INVITATION from France
Dear Showdown friends!
Yerres Showdown Club, Devisport and Colombes Handisport Olympique,
with kind sponsorship from:
- The city of Yerres;
- UNADEV;
- Handisport Essonne’s district committee;
are most proud and happy to invite the three best men and the two
best women of each country, as well as all referees thereof, to
take part in the first international Showdown Tournament in France.
This tournament will take place in Yerres, a city in Paris southern
suburb, between March 1 and March 4, 2012.
We will play on six brand new French tables.
We will be playing in Yerres educational and cultural center,
located in the city center of Yerres, rue Marc Sangnier.
We will be sleeping at the Kyriad hotel, located Carrefour du
Général de Gaulle, avenue Jean Rostand, 94380, Bonneuil sur Marne.
Although this is not very far from the tournament venue, we will
need to go there by bus.
Transportation facilities:
Airports:
you may arrive either at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport
(easier for connection with train services) or
Orly airport (closer but slightly more difficult to get to
Yerres from there);
Train station:
Yerres regional train station, line D (straight from
Paris Gare du Nord or Paris Gare de Lyon);
Please note that we cannot offer transportation services by
car / bus from and back to airports and Paris train stations.
However, upon your request, you will be transported from Yerres
train station to the hotel, and we can always assist you with
public transportation services;
Short schedule:
Thursday March 1:
1400: Arrival of participants at the hotel;
1745: Departure from the hotel to the competition venue;
1800: Referees meeting;
1830: Opening ceremony;
1900: Dinner;
2000-22:00: Competition;
Friday March 2:
0700: Breakfast;
0745: Departure from the hotel;
0800-12:30: Competition;
1230: Lunch;
1330-19:00: Competition;
1900: Dinner;
2000-22:00: Competition;
Saturday March 3:
Same as Saturday
Sunday March 4:
0700: Breakfast;
0745: Departure from the hotel;
0800-12:00: Competition;
1215: Closing ceremony;
1300: Lunch;
1400: Departure of participants
Obviously, this schedule will be refined and improved once
we know how many participants there will be.
Entry fee for this tournament, including accommodation and meals,
for players, coaches and guides amounts to 210 euros per person.
Referees are obviously welcome, and we’ll try and do our best to
help them compensate their traveling expenses.
